Content
The seminar provides comprehensive knowledge in risk
management, covering types of risks and risk perception, decision theories, and risk management
strategies. It addresses the maturity levels of risk management, modern practices and techniques,
as well as practical case studies and new technologies.
Learning outcomes
Through this seminar, participants will gain a comprehensive
understanding of different types of risks and their management in a business context. They will
learn the psychological foundations of risk perception and the application of decision theories such
as Prospect Theory. Participants will develop skills in estimating probabilities and implementing risk
management strategies. They will be able to assess the maturity levels of risk management and
apply modern risk management tools. Practical insights and case studies will help them implement
theoretical concepts in real business situations.
Examination
The examination consists of an individual presentation during the semester and a hand in
presentation at the end of the semester as well as a hand-in project work. Project work is a case
processing and multimedia preparation in a group work setting.
Grading:
20 % individual oral presentation
40 % individual hand-in presentation
40 % group work multimedia format

Teaching & learning methods
As part of the seminar, students will receive input on the
covered topics in various thematic blocks, along with study materials for self-study and review.
Subsequently, the content will be deepened through exercises,reflections, presentations, and
discussions. For their examination, participants will independently research and elaborate
on a topic from one of the overarching areas, preparing it didactically so that all other course
participants can benefit. During the seminar, they will have the opportunity to present and discuss
their topic in various ways and receive feedback on their work following the presentations.
Building on this, students will further develop, refine, and clearly present their topic throughout
the semester. In a group project, students will work on a case study in detail and apply risk
management and multimedia methods.
