The course provides an introduction into artificial intelligence applications in supply chain
management and logistics. It will cover methods and tools including machine learning, generative
artificial intelligence, agentic AI, human-AI interaction and present the theoretical concepts and
foundations.
Learning outcomes
The module will give an overview of Artificial Intelligence in Supply Chain Management using
lectures and introduce detailed tools to develop AI applications for various tasks such as supply
chain design, forecasting and inventory management, procurement and bargaining, and agent
coordination through designated exercises and assignments. Weekly assignments and homework,
and a final development project will demonstrate the ability to understand and apply AI concepts
and tools in supply chain management.
Examination
The assessment is through 5 graded homework assignments (10% each) and one final codig
project (10 page report) including a presentation (50%)

Teaching & learning methods
After participating in this module, students are able to understand the different concepts and
methods of AI for analyzing logistics problems and providing state-of-the-art decision support.
They are able to implement and apply these methods and analyze the results. Students further
comprehend the weaknesses and strengths of the methods. They are able to apply the method
to a practical problem in the area of supply chain management and logistics in the context of a
project.
